Clare Prendergast - Therapist
I am an Integrative Practitioner. My core training has included psychodynamic therapy, systemic therapy, attachment theory and cognitive behavioural therapy. Over the years this has been supplemented by training in solution focussed therapy, narrative therapy, brief therapy and person-centred counselling. I draw from these different modalities and this with insights from my own experience, has led to my practice becoming integrative.
I am a mother to a young adult and grandmother as well. I live and work close to Manchester City Centre. I am a creative person with a background in theatre and writing. I used to lead poetry and drama workshops for women, survivors of mental distress and disabled people. I have run experiential courses to develop self-esteem, purpose and personal connection and facilitated workshops in conflict resolution. Currently I am hosting a monthly meditation practise space called Stillness in the City.
My personal healing journey, spanning thirty years, has included psychoanalytic and psychodrama groups, gestalt, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy and inner child work. I have danced 5 Rhythms and practise yoga and meditation.
I am passionate about healing, both for myself and others.
